Playhouse complete?
Well we made a bit more progress on the girls' play house over the weekend. It is now fully painted inside and out. Thanks to those people that left a suggestion for the colour scheme. We liked them all and being the procrastinator that I am it's lucky we were given some paint by a friend so in the end we just went with the free colours and I'm really happy with them. Here's a few images of the playhouse which I THINK is complete now...until we think of something else to add!

Friday Funny-Stewart Francis
This guy is a seriously funny 'one liner' comedian. Here's one from this clip to give you an idea:
"My fairy godmother once asked me if I'd like a long penis or a long memory....I forget my response"

Four Seasons-Spring
I decided to join in with Lou's theme of Four seasons.
This week I cooked two things that have a Spring feel for me. In fact they're late Spring/early summer dishes.
Fresh new potatoes boiled with a sprig of mint...mmm that smell is divine and they're so delicious smothered in real butter and a generous sprinkling of rock salt.

Wardrobe Wednesday
I wore this outfit recently to a garden party for the opening of a Vineyard wedding reception and events venue that my husband did the brick work on.

New Doll
Sofia's Mama (my mother) made her a new doll for her birthday. She is a Waldorf style doll, with chocolate-y skin and dark hair like Sofia. She has underwear, a dress, cardigan (knitted from Mum's natural hand dyed wool) a toadstool dress, trousers and a shirt-and now some shoes that I have knitted her.
Sofia was really funny when Mum arrived with the doll. She grabbed it and held it close and giggled and giggled. She ran to her bedroom to take a closer look on her own, then wanted to change it into the spare clothes right away. It was so cute. I'm really looking forward to watching Sofia develop a relationship with her new friend.
Birthday Girl
Well it's been a while since I've done a 'real' post here. We've had a few different bugs in our house which have laid us all low over the past ten days or so.
Friday was Sofia's 3rd birthday. The day itself was pretty uneventful as it was pouring with rain and both us parents were pretty unwell. However Sofia was excited to open presents in the morning and enjoyed having her own way most of the day! This was all made up for on Sunday when we had all the family around for a party and BBQ. The weather was stunning. Sofia was able to try out the kite we gave her. Paula and his friends cooked a traditional Tongan delicacy-roast pig on the spit. The kids had an amazing time playing in the playhouse, on the bikes, in the tent and at the playground. We ate delicious food. We had a visit from the girls' great grandparents whom we feel so privileged to have around for these occasions in our children's lives. Sofia was so thrilled to have birthday cards that said " Happy birthday to Sofia" and a cake with candles to blow out (which is everything that her birthday meant to her in the weeks leading up to it). Here's a few pics from the day

Wardrobe Wednesday
This was what I wore yesterday as I headed back to school for a day of teaching. I find it a bit hard now to get back into that 'professional' mode required for the workplace. With no jeans allowed it cuts my wardrobe choices by at least half and of course trackpants aren't quite the right look either, so then I'm pretty much left with a handful of skirts and a pair of shorts to choose from! Makes me realise when I go back to teaching that my many of my 'work' clothes are now so 2006!
Cardigan from Glassons
Skirt from Pagani
Singlet top from Ezibuy(I like the ruffled detail across the top)
Sandals from KMart
I'd like to know if you other ladies are into shorts and what style of shorts you like to wear

Macaroon Recipe
This is the recipe I used for my latest batch of macaroons (the ones I showed here). I did get it off the internet but can't find it when I search now so can't credit it.
