Recently Completed

Newborn cardigan for my friend's baby due next week-one of my favourite patterns and this wool was lovely to work with (Sheperd Baby Wool Merino 4 ply)
A garter stitch jacket with pockets made to order. Also a really nice wool-John Q Designer Heather in a Navy/Charcoal fleck.
Men's slippers made to order. It was the first time I had a made a men's slipper. They were really easy and I was happy with the way they turned out. The customer also ordered a pair of my handbag slippers, for a 12 month old toddler, which I made in John Q Heather too.
I have just uploaded these and a couple of other projects to my Ravelry page if you're interested in more details.

New Garden

Paula and Vinnie made a nice new rock bordered garden by our BBQ area using red rock salvaged from a Christchurch demolition site. The girls and I planted it up with cottage-style plants-delphinium, foxglove, salvia, polyanthus, allysum, pansies, hollyhocks, poppies and anemones.
We're really looking forward to see it filled out and in full bloom in Summer.

Childfree

Mum and Dad kindly offered to give the girls for a little holiday at their place, and us a little holiday without them this week. Three nights and three days childfree time...what to do, what to do?Well first I got out the sewing machine. I mended a couple of things then hemmed some pretty muslin to make dribble/burp cloths for my good friend who is due to have her first baby in a couple of weeks.
I also had a child free visit with her and started a wee green cardigan for her baby.
I bought Na'uli a new chest of drawers and transferred her clothes into it, leaving her smaller set free for teeny-tiny baby stuff, so cute.
We treated ourselves to an hour long massage at a pretty fancy place and dinner afterwards.
My washing is all up to date and my house is super clean and tidy.
Now I'm off to pick up my girls...and we're looking forward to having them back.
So grateful for a lovely set of parents.

Tolu/Number Three

Did you guess what that photo was of? It's my baby belly! (And my dirty slippers oops). That's 22 weeks worth of baby there. In November we will be having our third child.
Our scans show that everything is going well and after pretty bad morning/all day sickness for the first 16 weeks I am now feeling really good. We have two very excited girls awaiting the arival of a new brother or sister.

Nibbles

My friend had her baby shower recently. This is the food I took along...
Mini corn fritters with a sour cream and sweet chilli dip
Meringue nests filled with lemon curd and whipped cream, topped with mandarin
Chocolate fudge and russian fudge with hazelnuts
